Well, happy 2009! After a wonderful NYE spent at home with my family & wonderful friends, we welcome in another new year. My "new beginning" srarted w/ going to bed around 3am. My wonderful hubby & friends who spent the night let me sleep till 10:15 & gave me a fantastic breakfast of eggs, pancakes, bacon & sausage! Another bonus to New Years Day is it is my birthday. Considered this a birthday treat. Until I blinked & all of a sudden it was 4:00! This is why I hate sleeping in. The day was gone. I don't even know how. All I know is this. My house was a disaster, my kitchen (which had actually been cleaned up by my good friend Amy the night before) was trashed again & I had not done a thing. One word, UGH!
I have been doing a bit of research lately on how to organize my home, my life, etc. Has great advice for others, but nothing that clicks for me. Something about getting boxes & putting in what you want in one, what you don't want in another, yada, yada, yada. I would be left with two boxes sitting on the floor of my kitchen filled with things that I will throw out one day but can't do it now. Another website did suggestions to do more time management. They suggest cutting down playdates, not going out much during the day & "scheduling" time with the kids. What? Yeah, not interested in that either. *Sigh*.
So, I am still stuck here, unorganized, frazzled, having the desire to "declutter" but no ideas or motivation to do it. I do wonder if maybe taking just one room a day, and completely cleaning & organizing, if that would work. Now, literally, doing ONE room a day, would take 12 days. Now, we have not even talked about closets. But, by the time I am done, will the other rooms have become disarrayed again? Yup, who am I kidding!
So, tomorrow, I will try to do a bit & hope that it does not get trashed again by the evening. Hopefully, get a couple loads of laundry done, maybe even put them away too! Good to have goals. Very good. Just take it one day at a time. Best I can do :)
